The philosophical school of ABSURDISM is a foundational tenet of the ARC PROJECT philosophy.

Absurdism posits that upon the revelation that life has no inherent cosmic meaning, there are only two rational conclusions:

a) everything is meaningless and therefore, there is rationally no point in living (Nihilism).

b) we stare at the void, accept the absurdity of our situation and radically, choose to ascribe our own meaning anyway (Absurdism).

Option b is the root of the ARC PROJECT philosophy.

In the following text, Camus gives this choice a face, Sisyphus, condemned to an eternity of pushing a boulder up a hill-- only to watch it roll back down - where he must start again.

Camus tells us to imagine Sisyphus happy. For much like pushing the boulder, the cosmos bestows no inherent meaning on us.

It is then our choice, to commit philosophical suicide--

or to live radically in the opposite direction --and ascribe our own meaning anyway.
